Feeding rabbits fresh produce can be expensive! We know, because our bunnies go through a bag of herbs in a couple of days and a zucchini in less than 3. One way to save money involves choosing vegetables (and fruit as a treat) based on the current season. In-season produce tends to be cheaper, fresher, more nutritious, and even tastier.
Here is a list of in-season vegetables and fruit commonly found in most grocery stores or at farmer’s markets, organized by month. The exact timing may vary slightly based on your location.
Please note that new food needs to be introduced slowly to a rabbit’s diet, one at a time. This is just a selection of vegetables and fruit that can be fed. None of these should be fed exclusively or in large quantities. Please contact your vet if you are unsure about your rabbit’s diet.
